.:Personality:. Karim is a man of strong feelings and passions, but usually hides those behind a mask that often lets him come across as cold or haughty. He is proud of his progress from simple ludus slave to gladiator, but he does not brag about it. He drops his mask only in the presence of those he feels safe and comfortable with, people he trusts.
.:Special Skills:. From his years as slave in the ludus he has retained some basic, simple knowledge in treatment of wounds. He is a skilled fighter with his chosen weapon, the spear. He is fast and the spear makes up for the reach he lacks due to his size. His fighting style earned him the nickname "Syrian Snake".
.:Weaknesses:. He lacks the physical strength of most gladiators and his only countermeasure is his speed and agility. In tasks that require sheer muscle force, he will not measure up to others. He is also plagued by bad conscience about having lost his brother when they were both children, even though he could have done nothing to prevent them being sold to separate owners. It is a very sore spot, and will sometimes cause a heavy fit of anger, but mostly he will withdraw trying to hide his shame and pain.

.:History:. After their parents' untimely death, Karim and his brother Nasir have been surviving as orphans in the streets of a city neither of them can remember. They were still children when they were caught by slavers and sold to different Romans into slavery. Karim has sworn to himself that one day he will gain his freedom, by whatever means necessary, and find his brother to free him as well. The rebellion took care of his brother and now Karim is free himself, and has pledged himself to Spartacus and his cause.
