blood and battle
ARE ALL I HAVE EVER KNOWN
Fuck the gods. There were things Agron knew he was good at, and things he was . . . well, not so skilled at. Diplomacy fell on the not so good at list. And yet, he was the only general capable of addressing Crassus right now. Gannicus was too piss drunk. And Crixus and Spartacus could not make it. So that left Agron. Spartacus seemed to have trust in him but Agron knew that one wrong word, could cost the lives of hundreds of rebels that were part of negotiations right now.
Agron rode up, a few men at his side, Donar being one of them. He took a deep breath, stopped by guards and informed to surrender his weapons . . . and that it would only be him permitted. Agron wanted to curse at him, but somehow, miraculously, held his tongue. That was personal growth for him. A final nod to Donar after giving up his weapons, Agron followed the guard to the tent, where Crassus stood inside waiting. Agron took in the sight of him. Strong, confident . . . and a fucking Roman. He knew it best that Crassus be the one to start talking . . . for Agron still did not trust what could so loosely fall from his unrestrained tongue.

The house of Crassus bows to no one Crassus had one of his tented moved out of his camp and to a sercured location for the meeting. The rebels had many of his men--inducing his son. He wanted them back, and he was willing to give up his own hostages in order to get his men back. Which was why he had sent word to rebels that he would like to talk to their leader. To Spartacus. He wanted to look into the man's face, and make this deal. He wanted to learn hat he could from the man while he was here.
Which was why he was disappointed when a man with a smaller frame walked into the tent. Clearly not Spartacus, but he recognized the man briefly from the fighting in the city. Not enough to give a name. Spartacus had not come. "I asked for Spartacus," he spoke in a tone that held both power and annoyance. If the rebels had sent someone else he wondered what they were planning now. They had shown their ability to think wider then the Roman army before, and he was not going to let them make a mockery of him in this moment. He waited to see what the man would say before making up his mind about what this meant for the discussion they had planned to have. He would not give up the men without knowing that his son was alive and would be sent to him.

Agron wanted to roll his eyes. Though, his tolerance of Romans was extremely short. Perhaps the man could have said anything and it would have drawn the same tempting response. But, by some miracle, Agron withheld any sign of annoyance. "Clearly, I am not the man." Though it was apparently fucking impossibility to withhold the sarcasm that escaped his words. Part of Agron felt a bit satisfied over the thought as well, that Crassus did not get what he asked for. That he did not get Spartacus.
He would have to explain his presence here if he expected these dealings to go well. After all, Agron did wish for the rebels to be returned. Only, another wish within him was that he could slash the fucking Roman's throat while he had him in here. "I come on his behalf." Meaning, Spartacus had entrusted him with this task. Agron would not betray that trust. "To negotiate terms of exchange." Romans for rebels. That was the purpose of him being here after all.

The house of Crassus bows to no one Crassus raised his eyes brows with an arrogant warning as the man began with sarcasm, before beginning to explain nothing. He stated only what they both knew. Crassus watched him, and waited for more but when he gave no further information he pressed his lips together in a displeased expression. "And you have permission to speak for the man?" Because if not then he was going to order his men to kill him for wasting his time. He was insulted enough that Spartacus didn't come, he wasn't going to make a deal with some pup who didn't have the authority to hold it to power.
"Give voice to name," he demanded, waiting to find out who he was addressing. He took in the man's manner of dress, and looked for sign of brand. He could not see clear enough as of yet to judge what house he came from, but Crassus knew most of the fighters came from the same place. THe gladatirs who killed half of Capua's nobles in a single night and then raided villas along the country side. They killed a whole city of Romans. THey were ruthless, and he wanted nothing more then to end this.
