Attius had been in the back when he heard someone seek him out. The voice was unfamiliar and the fact that they did not know his face as he stepped out, indicated that he was no civilian of Sinuessa. That made the blacksmith instantly wary of the stranger. He looked over the shady male, hood covering his head and well, wasn't getting a very good feeling from him. "To what purpose?" He questioned as he took a couple of steps further into the room, though maintaining a significant distance from the man.
"If you seek service, then show coin first. Otherwise, you are waste of fucking time." And time was money. Which, Attius would not waste on this . . . hoodlum. The man didn't look like he had much coin on him. He looked . . . sketchy. And Attius didn't like sketchy. He thrived here because he minded his business. And he wasn't about to get caught up in whatever this stranger was here for, if not for the services of a blacksmith.

The rebels had lost their minds! They had gone around, killing all Romans within Sinuessa, even though they were prisoners of theirs. Attius wasn't overly fond of them, but nor was he fond of the reversal. He had attempted to speak against it, which had only landed him a blow on the head, alongside his brother of heart. He supposed there was some relief found in that Gannicus did not condone their behavior, for when he eventually awoke, he found Gannicus unconscious next to him. Apparently, Spartacus was not in favor of this either. It caused an immense rift among the rebels, splitting the group in two. Attius was moved with the remaining survivors to ensure their protection, while guarded by those rebels still loyal to Spartacus. The whole thing was a fucking disaster. Attius told them that he would distribute food to the others.
The fact that he had lent aid to Spartacus for entry upon the city -- even though he had been cornered to do so -- gave him some trust among the present rebels. And, it was better that the Romans be served by one of their own. Though, desperation gave them little choice for they had no other means to gain access to food. Among the survivors, was Laeta. Attius had known her and her husband; most everyone did in Sinuessa. Seeing her in such condition was quite a surprise. But, at least she was alive. After giving some bread to the others, he arrived at her, so that he could speak to her a moment. "They won't kill us," Attius told her. Of that, he was certain. "One among them is trusted friend. For right now, we are protected from the other mad shits." But even Attius knew, this was only temporary. He just knew that whatever confidence he had in Gannicus, could hopefully provide some comfort to Laeta. Because Attius too, was Roman.

.:Personality:. Attius can be described as a greedy individual. When offered coin, there is nothing that he would not do to obtain it, even if it is at risk of his own life. When his hand is weighted with it, he will do what he can to gain it. That being said, he does have a sense of loyalty to those he is close to . . . with is seldom few. He is unafraid to speak his mind, even if unpopular. He does not overly engage in physical confrontation despite the provoking words that escape him. He does however, feel compelled to speak up when he believes something is wrong, particularly when it endangers the life of another. Though these circumstances are very limited. Attius is also of a boisterous nature, enjoying drink and the social aspect of a Roman citizen. He is well versed in commerce and skilled in his field of work.

.:History:. Attius was born and raised in Sinuessa. His father was a blacksmith, and his father before him. It was expected for Attius to carry on the family tradition. He had a fairly comfortable upbringing. His family was not wealthy, but nor did they starve. They were respectable among those in the city, and tended to keep out of any politics or issues that would place a target on their backs or create tension with those in power. Ever since he was a boy, Attius questioned the existence of slaves. He wondered about their ill treatment of them and his father always told him to just mind his business.
When he was older, Attius found himself infatuated by one, and while affections were returned . . . anothers ownership of her made any hope for something to develop further, an impossibility. He saw first hand the ill treatment of her, the abuse, and she then, disappeared. Word spread that she was killed. This caused Attius to develop an immense dislike for the other Romans and the entire norm of slavery. He found his ties to Sinuessa rather strained, and sought more and more coin to eventually get him out of this place.
